The Niger State government has instructed Niger Tornadoes' newly inaugurated management committee to finish among the top three teams in the NPFL during the 2026/27 season.
Dr Nuhu Garba Ngaski, Permanent Secretary of the Niger State Ministry of Sports Development, issued the directive at the committee's inauguration ceremony: "We want to see Niger Tornadoes finish among the first three teams in the league. That is the challenge before this man."
Dr Ngaski also confirmed the Niger State Government's continued financial backing of the club in pursuit of the target, a sharp step up from the 14th-place finish of 2025/26.
TransfersNiger Tornadoes have completed the signing of Liberian international goalkeeper Derrick Daddy Julu from Ikorodu City FC. The 24-year-old joins the Ikon Allah Boys on a two-year contract ahead of the new NPFL season.
