Abia WarriorsVSNiger Tornadoes

Niger Tornadoes beat Abia Warriors 1–0 away from home on Sunday, 25 October, in Matchday 10 of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League. Wasiu Jimoh supplied the decisive goal in the 55th minute, giving the Ikon Allah Boys an important three points at Enyimba Stadium.

The first half ended goalless. Ten minutes after the restart, Jimoh broke the deadlock for Tornadoes. The visitors held on to their one-goal advantage through the remainder of the match and left with their fourth league win of the season.

The result follows a 2–1 home victory over Ikorodu City on 18 October. Two consecutive wins have brought six points and moved Tornadoes up the table. Sunday's clean sheet was also their first since the goalless draw at Ranchers Bees on 10 October.

The official NPFL table now places Tornadoes ninth with 15 points from ten games: four wins, three draws and three defeats. They have scored nine goals and conceded eight, leaving a goal difference of +1. Abia Warriors are 17th on ten points after ten matches.

The narrow scoreline made every part of the lead valuable. Tornadoes needed only one goal to win, but keeping Abia off the scoresheet ensured Jimoh's contribution delivered all three points. The result is a timely reward for a team trying to build consistency across home and away fixtures.

Attention now turns to Barau's visit to Minna. The two teams are level on 15 points, although Barau sit fifth on goal difference. The Matchday 11 meeting is set for Sunday, 1 November, at 4:00 PM at Bako Kontagora Stadium. Tornadoes will have an opportunity to carry their winning run into another direct test in front of their supporters.
