Match Preview: Niger Tornadoes vs Warri Wolves

Niger Tornadoes welcome Warri Wolves to Bako Kontagora Stadium on Wednesday, 23 September, for Matchday 5 of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League. Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00 PM.

The Ikon Allah Boys go into the fixture after a 1–0 defeat away to Katsina United. Abdulrahman Garba's 21st-minute goal separated the sides, despite Tornadoes creating chances. Kabiru Dogo's team will look to respond in front of the Minna supporters and make their opportunities count.

Warri Wolves arrive after a 1–0 home win over Kwara United on Sunday. That was their first victory of the campaign, following a 2–1 defeat at Bendel Insurance on the opening weekend. The result in Ozoro gives the visitors confidence, while their early form has been shaped by a postponed Matchday 2 fixture against Rangers International.

Wednesday's meeting is an opportunity for both sides to build on that latest result. Tornadoes will seek to set the tempo at home; Warri Wolves will aim to carry their defensive discipline and momentum from the weekend into a difficult away trip.
